Hello Walker Families, Springdale elementary students will be released early on Wednesdays at 1:50 pm so that teachers have collaborative team meetings. This time will allow all district teachers to be part of a Professional Learning Community. The communities will provide educators with time to work together to focus on student achievement and data that shows which students are progressing academically and which may need additional support. The Springdale School district created a great video that explains collaborative team meetings. To watch this video, go to https://www.sdale.org/page/early-out If you need child care on Wednesdays, the After School Program will provide extended child care for elementary and middle school students who are enrolled in the program on Wednesdays at no additional cost to families. Parents:
As you may have heard, the waiver that allowed free lunches for all students has expired. Beginning this year we will, again, be charging for breakfast and lunch. The good news is that, thanks to Federal assistance, we will NOT have to increase costs for student trays.
2022-2023 Prices
Breakfast - $1.30 full price, $0.25 for reduced
Lunch - $2.45 full price, $.040 for reduced

August 10th from 4:00-5:00 we will have a kindergarten parent meeting for students and families.
August 11th from 4:00-5:30 is our back to school meet and greet for all 1st -5th grade students and families.
Our first day of school is on Monday, August 15th. That is in only 28 more days.

We are so excited to announce that Mrs. Katie Ray will be joining the Walker team to teach 3rd Grade! Mrs. Ray brings 4 years of experience in teaching both 3rd and 5th grades.

Attention Walker Parents & Guardians,
There are a few spots left in the Walker Summer ROAR program July 18-28, Monday-Thursday, from 9:00am to 1:00 pm. This program is free and supervised by Walker staff. ROAR includes two weeks of hands-on activities and field trips. Limited transportation is provided along with lunch. Please text Ms. Bayham at 479-721-9021 with your name and child's name. Limited spots are available so please let us know quickly if you would like your child to attend. Ms. Bayham will confirm your child's registration with a message back to you.

During this meeting, we will help you and your child get ready to start school! We can't wait to meet our incoming kindergarten students and their families. Please make plans to attend!
Do you have a child who will be starting kindergarten in August of 2022? Have you enrolled your child in kindergarten? Kindergarten enrollment is all online.
To register your child in Kindergarten at any Springdale Elementary School, you will need:
Birth Certificate
Social Security Number (or request the district assign a number)
Immunization Record
Proof of Address (electric or gas utility bill)
Physical Exam (within 90 days of the 1st day of school)
